Abus open doors of high-tech factory at 100th anniversary

REHE, Germany - Welcoming almost 5,000 people at their head office in Wetter, Germany, bike security company Abus celebrated their 100th anniversary in the first week of December. On this occasion the company also opened their doors to visitors of their newly built high-tech production hall for mobility products.

'Locks should be more than just a safety feature'

LEIPZIG, Germany - For Tex-Lock a bicycle lock is not just that standard heavy weight safety device in black that needs to be used by any cyclist to protect their bike. "I wanted to bring fashion and style into this product category but also improve the usability," says Tex-Lock CEO and co-founder Alexandra Baum. Eurofender unveils 100% recycled and recyclable mudguard

PADOVA, Italy - To reduce the carbon footprint of bicycles, mudguard manufacturer Eurofender has developed a model which is made out of recycled plastic. Besides this, it is also made without aluminum, and the plastic can be fully recycled at the end of the life cycle of the mudguard.

Terasilic unveils bike radar sensor with 190m detection range

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Similar to the advanced collision-avoidance radar systems found in vehicles, Terasilic's new Bike Radar Sensor utilises cutting-edge 24GHz radar sensing technology. Open-source accessory mounting system MIK tops 100 industry partners

Mips, GoPro, BikeBeat: Financial results offer positives for 2024

MALMÖ, Sweden - Possibly the most remarkable and inventive cycling accessory, the Hövding is no longer on the market. The Swedish Hövding AB filed for bankruptcy last month after regulators stopped the sales of its main product. According to the Swedish Consumer Agency the airbag helmet doesn't inflate properly on impact.

Rising e-bike thefts prompts new market entrants and products

ZEIST, The Netherlands - The combination of a growing demand, an increasing average retail price and rising e-bike thefts have given a boost to the market of digital anti-theft devices. The use of a single rear wheel lock is no longer considered sufficient.
